A sample reflection on rest, to be replaced with my own writing. It can be tempting to wait for an empty inbox or a finished list before we allow ourselves to pause. But the list keeps growing.
On the mat, we practise another possibility. We pause in the middle of things. We notice what it feels like to be supported, rather than always holding everything up.
“Rest is not a reward for finishing everything.”
Rest does not need to be a grand gesture. It might be a few minutes without a screen, a quiet cup of tea, or a moment lying down before the evening begins.
What would change if you offered yourself a little space today, without first asking whether you had done enough?
